Re: Round 1E: Gone vs. Sunburn vs. In Hiding
I've never liked Sunburn and In Hiding is one of those songs that, despite a strong pre-chorus, feels more and more juvenille the older I get. Probably the song I like least on Yield.
Gone is not a classic, but the brickwall mix kicked some new life into this. There's a bit more atmosphere in the verses and while it is a total paint by numbers chorus, it's a nice paint by numbers picture (and it's no more typical than In Hiding).

Gone is a low point for me in the catalogue. I'm bored just thinking about it. They may as well have titled it "Piss Break."
In Hiding, and it's not close.

I love the musical arc of "In Hiding" and everything about "Sunburn". Two great Stone songs. I'm going with the latter, but may easily change my vote later.
"Gone" is completely worthless.

Gone is one of my least favorite songs by them, I'm one of the few that just doesn't get In Hiding.
Sunburn is Stone at his very best.

I could listen to Sunburn everyday and never get sick of it. Such a gorgeous song.

Sunburn is gorgeous and I've always liked Gone a lot but In Hiding remains top 5 for me.

Re: Round 1E: Gone vs. Sunburn vs. In Hiding
This is such a losers' round.
Gone sucks; it's probably my least favorite song in the entire catalog.
Sunburn is meh.
More than any other song, In Hiding has fallen from grace for me something fierce. It went from being a great Zep-style introspective rocker to embarrassing naval-gazing by a rich rock star. It still has cool guitar riffs, so I guess I'll vote for that.

Re: Round 1E: Gone vs. Sunburn vs. In Hiding
I really like all three of these songs. I like Gone a lot more than most of RM. But it would fall to In Hiding even if Sunburn wasn't here. In Hiding is just brilliant. I'm bummed it's up against Sunburn. In Hiding would probably win against most of the other songs in this round.

I always stick up for "Gone" but it has no chance against "In Hiding".

Gone is the musical equivalent of adult voices in Peanuts.

Re: Round 1E: Gone vs. Sunburn vs. In Hiding
I'm a little surprised to see how many votes Sunburn has already. Really? I mean it's a nice little ditty and all but this shouldn't even be a contest. In Hiding is classic PJ.

I just don't understand the dismissive attitude towards Sunburn.

Re: Round 1E: Gone vs. Sunburn vs. In Hiding
Was it ever confirmed that Sunburn actually features the band on the track, and not some other collection of Stone's friends (Brad guys, etc)?
