Re: Round 1E: My Father's Son vs. Wasted Reprise vs. Acousti
I'm still not getting it, my friend. It's a nice little unfinished melody. But nothing spectacular. I've already forgotten how it sounds again. Listening to it is pleasant, but it's just not something that moves me or asks me to give it more attention.stip wrote:obviously you do!
Sorry, pal. But I tried.

It's a headphones song. It needs to envelope you. There's so much texture in Eddie's voice.

My Father's Son, though I'd never heard Acoustic#1 before voting. I'm with durden; it's nice enough, but I don't really feel a need to ever hear it again. Maybe if it had moved beyond the sketch stage.

Poor Angel, it really deserved a better match-up.durdencommatyler wrote:I can see that. I don't know. It just made me want to listen to Angel again.stip wrote:It's a headphones song. It needs to envelope you. There's so much texture in Eddie's voice.

I've listened to MFS maybe 3 times total. The first time I rolled my eyes, the second time I think I threw up, and the third time to see if it would make me throw up again, but I just laughed instead.

Re: Round 1E: My Father's Son vs. Wasted Reprise vs. Acousti
I got shit for picking acoustic#1 in a PJ tourney but it was the perfect feeling song for my playlist. I get what Stip is on about. The song reminds me of the end of the film Heaven, the helicopter shot. It's a beautiful moment.
MFS is probably my favourite track off LB but it still doesn't sit right. It feels forced. And Wasted Reprise is throwaway.

My Father's Son is easily the best song on the last two records.

This is spot on. It really is the worst. Wasted Reprise, I guess.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I've listened to MFS maybe 3 times total. The first time I rolled my eyes, the second time I think I threw up, and the third time to see if it would make me throw up again, but I just laughed instead.

I love Acoustic #1.... I can keep listening to it and never get sick of it. I know it is just a demo but I am perfectly happy exactly how it is. I hope it makes it onto Lost Dogs 2 if we ever get one!
