Thanks much...I'm pretty excited about this one. Any new Lanegan is always good news; he really doesn't swing & miss.

Glad to hear. Can't wait to be able to listen to it. I concur on the consistent quality of his out put. The Moby song was a bit 'just okay' but that was mainly Moby's part not Lanegan's contribution.

well yeah, i mean...it was just a song...so it was ok. This record might feel unfinished, but there are some good moments for sure.

i was a bit disappointed in this one. It was a bit one dimensional. Mescalito was a great song, but it is the only one that's really stood out after two listens.

yeah that one is also pretty good. Still a disappointing album for me though, where I'm usually more likely to have to look for the songs I don't like. This listens like a case of 6 good song ideas strung out over 12 songs.

In fairness, it could be a mood record, and I haven't had the chance to sit down and listen to it as such

Actually, its a great mood record. The instrumental passages are really nice, and some of the songs are just unfinished ideas for me too.

For an artist like Lanegan its a minor album, even if its an interesting one.

Well this could be ridiculously cool...I'm a pretty big fan of his work the the Soulsavers. Hopefully I don't forget to listen to this later.

it has an unbalanced pieces meets feral cat vibe to it, but I just made it sound cooler than it actually is

Found it a little boring. Love the Soulsavers stuff, couldn't get into this.

Listened to it today while I was walking and it has moments of subtle brilliance and others that I couldn't hear because of traffic. I'ma listen to it again tonight while I'm reading for a quieter experience.

This album was okay but I'm not sure it'll get many repeated listens now it's back on the shelf.

Another fantastic release by the mighty Lanegan and a bold introduction to the work of duke garwood. Definitely a mood piece, some songs are deliberaely left as impressionistic sketches. Review with audio and lyric links here:

Its a pretty good album, but for Lanegan standars i would say its one of the minor ones.
