I'm kidding. Only one man has ever truly earned a Hitler comparison.

And that man's name is Beyonce.

It's not that I don't think Trump should be called out for repeating bigoted statements, misrepresenting demographic and economic data w/r to immigration, and not even feigning listening to minority issues, it's that what Hitler did was so bad that equating his to Trump's ideas actually imply Hitler was less bad than he was and make me wonder if people still remember or are still taught the scale of Nazi crimes across Europe. But I had the same reaction to comparisons between W. and Hitler, so it might just be me.
You're right. The thing is Hitler is the politically safe and effective choice in this context. It's not like comparing him to, i don't know, George Wallace is imaginable or as effective.

I think the magnitude of the horrors committed by Hitler and co. was too big to be swept under a carpet on one and hand, on the other i believe Jewish people actively prevented it from happening. Every other xenophobic/fascist more or less institutionalized crimes in the 20th century have been either underplayed or swept under a carpet so Hitler/Nazi Germany is all people associate with xenophobic ideas in politics.

Speaking of Hitler, I thought Giulliani's comments on the halftime show were deliciously absurd.

It is bizarre how she who doesn't speak in public is supposedly making big political statements.

She was either despicable enough to use the huge Super Bowl viewership to put a political issue she cares about front and center, or despicable enough to use it for crass marketing purposes.

Just like Hitler did.

I hope a lot of Downfall parodies have been made in the wake of this hilariously pathetic primary season.

1936 Summer Olympics all over again.

I don't follow Beyonce so i was really surprised to find out she doesn't do interviews, supposedly to avoid embarrassing herself for one reason or another. Even if she deliberately put a spotlight on a political issue she cares about it doesn't serve any non marketing purpose since she doesn't actually speak publicly. It makes it even more absurd for Giuliani to bitch about it.

She supposedly stopped at one point and than did one for some magazine saying essentially nothing, which is when the article i read was written.
I found it surprising given the fact she's been more or less the most successful female pop star for a while now.

so noble to conjure the imagery of the black panther movement at such a widely-viewed event

It is certain that Fred Hampton would find the tenancy of a 20,000 square foot house to be reflective of a person that genuinely espouses his value system and not that of the Oppressor.

clearly nothing out of bounds for attempted domestication and consumerization these days

Seriously, they should learn from Pearl Jam and stick with social issues like lack of skate parks and such.

Also let's [dog-whistle:kick the blacks out of the WHITE house unless they wear aprons, white power, segregation] make America great again! [/dog-whistle]

Aw jeez, I was planning to skip tonight's debate, but now I think I have to tune in to see how much focus there is on the Supreme Court.
