Me too, and I thought Johnson/Schilling for the Diamondbacks would carry them to at least .500.

I just don't feel like doing it during the work week. It takes me like 45 minutes to do a weeks worth over the weekend. I'm just trying to keep up with it this year, I've felt bad about not having them in previous campaigns.

After the abysmal performance of 1994 Frank Thomas in the last one, I was very close to leaving him off completely. Instead I switched him for 1993 Frank Thomas and he's been outstanding.cutuphalfdead wrote:I made a terrible mistake and switched to 2000 Pedro for this year's tournament. Last time we went with 1999.
You're tied for third and only three games out of first, so it's not like it's been bad.numbers wrote:I still feel like it will turn around.

Re: 2015 All-Time Franchise Tournament: DAY TWELVE RESULTS
I mean, people always talk about 1999 and 2000 Pedro Martinez in the same breath. Those two years are his peak. So we went with 1999 in the first franchise tournament and I thought what the hell, let's try 2000 this time. It wasn't like I switched to 2005 or something.
And Pedro's been good, just not as good as last time.

Re: 2015 All-Time Franchise Tournament: DAY ELEVEN RESULTS
Because when you put a bunch of starters on your team whatif creates a rotation out of them and sometimes sticks one or two in the pen. Nothing you can do about it.PHATJ wrote:OK, just stick Kaat back in there then. The Jays starting at 11-19 last year was so frustrating, then we finished up 19-11 to get to .500. I always thought with a couple tweaks here and there we could push for a playoff spot despite the team's short history.Lament wrote:I went back and looked, cause I remembered them starting slow too, but by the All-Star Break they pretty much completely turned around.numbers wrote:IIRC the Red Sox had a mediocre first half last time, as well.

Haha amazing! Liriano can't start so Kaat gets put back in, he hits a HR and the Twins win by one.cutuphalfdead wrote:And here are the results of that game:

Thomas is the same way. He was MVP in 1993 and 1994, and was actually far better in 1994 than 1993. But 1994 Thomas was so awful in the last Franchise Tournament (and I think was awful in the LCS Era Tournament too, if I remember correctly).cutuphalfdead wrote:I mean, people always talk about 1999 and 2000 Pedro Martinez in the same breath. Sometimes I feel like (outside of the White Sox fanbase) people forget what an absolute hitting machine Frank Thomas was from 1990-2000. Some of those numbers are obscene.

I definitely think there is a penalty for 1994 & 1995 players. F'n strike.Lament wrote:Thomas is the same way. He was MVP in 1993 and 1994, and was actually far better in 1994 than 1993.
