i've also seen video of somebody walking by a deathclaw with a high sneak and it not even noticingtragabigzanda wrote:I just read some online stuff pertaining to how you level up your character with agility, leather armor, and other things that are conducive to "sneak." One guy said he has put all available resources into leveling up his character's sneakability, and he's still spotted every time he gets within 10 meters of a bad guy. Doesn't sound very sneaky to me, but would love to know if there's more than meets the eye on this.

I don't know what a Deathclaw is, but I get the gist.

I typically only sneak close enough to destroy something with my OP sniper rifle.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
that's been pretty much my play style as well. sniper rifles and laser sniper rifles. i don't even carry automatic weapons. though i have invaded a few bases with a silenced handgun 007-style and managed to empty the place out without being fully spotted (ie the baddies know something is up but never actually see you and open fire). I would say the stealth is on par with Farcry.zeb wrote:I typically only sneak close enough to destroy something with my OP sniper rifle.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
no prob. that's just my take anyways. I don't do anything in particular to boost my sneak/stealth stats. my preferred play style is just to take targets out from a reasonable distance with a high powered rifle and clean up the rest with a shotgun or semi-auto rifle. i don't even really bother with silencers since they reduce the accuracy and damage stats of the weapon. There are lootable (and craftable) items the will cloak you for a short period. In Fallout 3 there was also stealth armour and i've seen a few hints at it in this game so far so it's reasonable to think it might be something you'll come across eventually.tragabigzanda wrote:Suh-weeeet. Fallout is a great series if you like lore and want to get engrossed in the game universe. You find out a lot about the world by reading logs and notes found throughout the game.
What i'm saying is Fallout clearly gets my vote.

Someone described The Division's setting/gameplay as a video game focus group word cloud in a podcast I was listening to. Seems about right.

I typically just get OP'd as quickly as I can so I can just explore without worrying about anything. I'm also having a lot of fun building and linking settlements.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
i think i'm at 28 or 29. though i'm at a point right now where i'm afraid to progress the main story too far and get locked into (or out of) any of the side factions. Want to keep as many of those questlines open as possible.zeb wrote:I hit level 47 last night. I am immersed.mf wrote:What i'm saying is Fallout clearly gets my vote.

That was my fear too. I barely did any main quests between levels 30 and 40. Seems to be working out OK.mf wrote:i think i'm at 28 or 29. though i'm at a point right now where i'm afraid to progress the main story too far and get locked into (or out of) any of the side factions. Re: The all inclusive video game thread
The only thing i'm finding is that there aren't many other interesting side quests left. I seem to keep doing settlement missions and random repeatable fetch quests for the factions. I should probably just explore and talk to NPC's more i guess. I just know this series well enough not to progress the faction things too far because eventually progress in one locks out another.zeb wrote:That was my fear too. DLC news should be coming out soon for Fallout 4. Interested to read what they plan to do. Tons of avenues to go down.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
The nice thing about Fallout is that it will give you a warning message when your actions will lock out another faction's quests. It is easy to make a manual save too so you can back later and play it a different way.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
DLC announced. Looks great. Also, buy your season pass before Mar 1 or it will spike in price.

I beat Resident Evil 6. Definitely not my favorite RE. No way I'm playing through each characters campaign.
