What's your take on Uncanny? I wanted to like it for Land's art but the story and direction of Magneto was  I guess it's going to be the "dark" x-title?

Old Man Logan is  .

I do like the Uncanny's writers creator owned stuff like Sixth Gun and Harrow County but the whole bad guys now good thing....I don't know I guess it felt like all the character beats would be really predictable as they try to be good and live down their past. Mostly I just wanted to read one X-Men team book and I liked Extraordinary's roster the best.

DC'S REBIRTH WILL SEE COMICS LINE RESTART AT #1

Big changes are brewing in the DC Universe.

DC finally revealed their plans for the "DC Rebirth" relaunch at the ComicsPRO retailer meeting in Portland, OR today. Look for DC's entire superhero lineup to be relaunched with a new slate of books.

Rebirth will kick off on May 25 with the release of an 80-page standalone comic called DC Universe: Rebirth #1, which will be written by Geoff Johns and feature art from Ethan Van Sciver, Phil Jimenez, Ivan Reis and Gary Frank. From there, DC will launch 32 new ongoing series (15 shipping once-a-month and 17 shipping twice-a-month). Following an introductory DC Rebirth special, each of these new series will start over with #1 (with the exception of Action Comics and Detective Comics, which will revert to their pre-New 52 numbering). All of these books will have a cover price of $2.99, recalling DC's "Hold the Line at $2.99" promotion from several years ago.

“At DC we believe in superheroes, and what makes them great,” said DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio at the ComicsPRO presentation. “And, we also believe in the direct market and the core comics fan. REBIRTH is designed to bring back the best of DC’s past, embrace the stories we currently love and move the entire epic universe into the future. We are returning to the essence of the DCU. With REBIRTH we are putting the highest priority on the direct market and we will continue to create and cultivate new opportunities for retailers to thrive and prosper, grow readers, fans and customers.”

I'm kinda glad. DC is a mess now. Of course DC is always a bit of a mess but over all the New 52 has been lacking and has really nose dived the last year or so. They need a course correct.

Yeah, i agree but its getting ridiculous. Because whatever you are reading, there is a feeling it doesnt matter...in a couple of years they could bring another of these things and star over.

As far as I know its not a full reboot. I think they are actually trying to make VinylGuy feel better by making everything you've ever read matter cause it all really happened throughout the multiverse. Will have to wait and see.

There were a couple bright spots. The first 30 odd issues of Wonder Woman will probably go down as one of if not the best runs for the character ever. Omega Men is really interesting and different. Green Arrow had a really nice stretch when Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino worked on it. Batman and Green Lantern were good till only recently since they mostly just carried on from before New 52. Green Lantern is a mess now. Superman is horrible. The New 52 version is just off. They recently brought back the Pre-Flashpoint Superman and Lois lane and the tone is perfect. Teen Titans is sh*t. Almost all the side kicks got a raw deal. Dick Grayson most of all. He went from being arguably the lynchpin of the DCU to a forgotten sidekick no one really interacted with. Tim Drake is a prick. There are like 100 Robins. Damien is awesome though. Flash is boring though it looked nice. Justice League had its moments. I've stuck with Earth-2 for years and I still don't know if I like it or if I really follow what is going on half the time. I'm fine with a reset.

Every time Marvel does a reboot, which seems to be yearly now, I hate them a bit more. How can a title build up a loyal following if you just tell one story in 12-14 issues then cancel it? Then they rearrange the "teams", start again at #1, and call it fresh. It pisses me off. Mind you, I've been pissed at them since they cancelled X-Factor.

There were some Marvel books that only made it 5 or 6 issues before they went back to number 1's again a few months back. It was pretty funny. I guess starting at number 1 every few years makes it less intimidating for new readers? The odd thing is most of the time when they restart they are still carrying on older story lines anyways.

Hey, can you subscribe to comics? I'd love for my parents to be able to buy a subscription for, say, the new Star Wars or Vader comics, so they just come in the mail when they release.

Is that a thing?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Yes for sure. There are apps. Some are free some you have to pay a few bucks for.
