Undone is my second favorite song from the Riot Act period. You Are is great music and a wonderful idea that somehow got turned into a middling song

Fantastic song. Get off it about the lyrics. They work. The mood and atmosphere and riff and shit the band actually doing something different with their instruments is all super exciting words are hard this song is nice and also undone is good too but you are yay

They create such a singular mood with You Are. That sense of lumbering doom doesn't exist anywhere else in their catalog. The psychedelic inflections, Ed's weary and busted vocal style...the whole thing sounds like a huge, monolithic machine slowly falling apart. "This broken wheel is coming undone" sets the stage perfectly. And then that bridge manages to give some sense of hope of a better life off in the distance.
It's an easy catalog highlight for me.
