Yea, Pegula will probably offer him a ridiculous amount, and he'll either take it or use it as a bargaining chip to get similar money elsewhere, like in Toronto. Either way, I think he'll be overpaid when this all shakes out. He's really good, but his elite goal-scoring peak is probably already behind him.

This management team in Toronto doesn't strike me as the type to get into a bidding war. I think they would be more likely to set a valuation on a player and stick to it, regardless of what other teams are offering.

Most elite offensive players seem to get overpaid when they hit free agency, so probably.
Any predictions for Calder finalists? A lot of talk about considering Panarin's age/experience in the voting. I think it's gonna be Panarin, Gostisbehere and Eichel (edging out Larkin down the stretch), in that order.

Sounds about right. Domi's having basically the exact same season as Eichel, so he'll be in the mix too. McDavid could get back into the discussion if he scores at the same pace for the next 20-ish games, but it kind of has to be Panarin at this point.
With 20+ games left, they're still right in the playoff race.
And holy crap, I just looked at the league standings for the first time in a while. I knew the Caps were having a really good year, but I didn't realize the extent of it until now.
I know it's the nature of sports fandom, but I find it hilarious that the few Sens fans I know were so quick to switch from "BAHAHA Phaneuf is a useless pylon and you're stuck with him for four more years for a ton of money!" to "Good trade. Solid addition to the team. He makes us a lot better."
He became so undervalued on the Leafs and around the league. He's a really good defenseman.
