Re: Star Wars Awesomeness
they already tried that
im reading this book..how star wars conquered the universe and i gotta say its great. its Lucas' life story to a point but what happened and intercut with tons of stuff about fans and collectors but the way they had no hope at all of making the first film happen and the guy they got on board and whhat he pulled off is amazing..
well worth a read.

Re: Star Wars Awesomeness
I'm just curious. Are there other changes to the Falcon other than the dish? I'm guessing someone has cataloged all the bolt changes and new scars between ROTJ and TFA.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: Star Wars Awesomeness
We'd be here all night if i was to start that story, B.
Basically there was a 5 foot filming model made for A New hope(thrown together really quickly cos they ship they had as the Falcon, Lucas decided it looked too much like the ship from Space 1999, so the 'original' Falcon is the very first ship you see in ANH, the tantive, getting blasted by the star destroyer), then a 32 inch model made quickly for ESB and has a lot of different elements(including 5 landing gear pods instead of 3, 'cos in ESB they built it full size for the Hoth set, and it wouldnt stand up on three so two more were added).
it's an endless sorta debate, there's countless forums and debates about which is batter..'the hull is too fat..it's not long enough...' ad infinitum.
there have been some repairs & replacements on TFA falcon and the Bandai kit is entirely regarded as the most accurate and most detailed of all the kits ever, even though its only like $30 and the fine molds Falcon has a bunch of mistakes and is over $200

Re: Star Wars Awesomeness
This was the original one in ANH..the modelers on TFA took the sattellite dish and put it on the Falcon in FA, which is cool and shows you how closely the nerds watch this stuff:)
