Sometimes Animal still pumps me up, other times it falls flat, but I would rather listen to Thin Air regardless.

These days, I may listen to Thin Air more than Animal, but Animal is what got me into these guys. It's a great song, and is getting my vote this round.

Thin Air is great, but Animal is one of their best.

For years I heard the beginning lyrics to "Animal" as "1234 papa hands on." I can never unhear that. Vote for "Thin Air."

I'm just here to say Animal has never really done anything for me. It just kinda plods along droning out the same nonsense.
It doesn't even feel like there's a chord change.

That's true of the verses -- it's a real Sly Stone sort of song that way. But the chord changes during the chorus, against the consistent funk riff in A, is what gives it some release from the tension of the verses (not that this is going to make you like it any better).

See, that's the thing; I don't think those changes offer any release to the constant A tension. I find it grating and unsatisfying. It's like when my husband wears a condom, I would imagine.

The little funk noodle is cute, though.

Are you still referring to your husband here?

I know Animal is the correct answer. But I want to vote for Thin Air. Not because it's better. Just because I love it so much and I want it to know that I love it. But, the vote has to go to Animal.
