I only have Ziggy and the compilation ChangesOneBowie, and like everyone else I've been tempted to get more of his records.
I'm not sure if reissues wouldn't be more expensive than finding decent condition original pressings - which often sound better.

I'm going to rummage through my local 2nd hand shop and see what I can find next time I'm there.

Oh yeah it's definitely worth checking into, and completely agree about OGs vs reissues. I'm mostly hinging most of my perspective in trying to find a good copy of Hunky Dory over the past 6 months or so. Seems like the minimum has been around $50-70 plus shipping for anything of listenable quality (unless you just happen to catch one for sale at the perfect time, but that's near impossible). So if I can score a new one at $20 without spending a quarter of my life tracking down a good used copy, I'm down for that :haha:

Discogs is pretty good, but the prices are sometimes high for new records--but if you're buying used, especially essentials, you can probably get some good prices. I'd advise against Amazon, as usually sellers don't give much condition information (beyond "Good," "Very Good," etc.), so it might be hard to get refunded if you feel like you've been duped (however, conversely, buying new records from third-party sellers can save you lots of cash sometimes). I also frequent the "For Sale/Trade" board at Vinyl Collective when I have extra cash, and although it's tough to search and you just have to sort of wait for records you want to be posted, I've gotten some excellent deals.

If you're interested (southp?), Neil Young's most recent live archive release--"The Bluenote Cafe"--has dropped under $40, if you buy from third-party sellers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... w&qid=&sr=
