This is the toughest decision yet but it has to be Hail, Hail by the smallest of margins.

Are you fucking serious? Does it have the whales on the shells? The trash can lid? The 28" bass drum?Bammer wrote:Oh shit I forgot - I have that drum set, too.durdencommatyler wrote:Guys can we all agree that we miss Jack Irons, at least?
I modeled a kit after Irons's kit from this era. Got the huge bass drum with wood hoops, and mounted a trash can lid. I found the 28" drum to be too boomy for practical use -- sounded great in a rehearsal room, but it sucked on stage and in the studio.

I voted for Daughter, but I don't know that I'll ever feel 100% confident in my decision.

Irons is great, yet Daughter has the better drumming.cutuphalfdead wrote:This is the toughest decision so far.

It's funny -- I always associate Abbruzzesse's drumming as being super cymbal happy, like he was on Vs. But then he totally changed his style for Vitalogy, really took a much more straight-forward approach on those songs. I don't give him enough credit for that.Kaius wrote:Irons is great, yet Daughter has the better drumming.cutuphalfdead wrote:This is the toughest decision so far.

He really does.
And I have some friends who became Pearl Jam fans because of Daughter.
Can't deny its influence and power.

Huh, this did not seem tough at all to me. I love "Daughter" but this was an easy vote for HH.

Agreed. He seems like a different drummer on Vitalogy.tragabigzanda wrote:It's funny -- I always associate Abbruzzesse's drumming as being super cymbal happy, like he was on Vs. Re: III-45: Hail Hail vs. Daughter
One song is Hail Hail and the other is a grown man singing "don't call me daughter". this is not a tough choice.
