All Those Yesterdays is a GREAT Pearl Jam song, but at the end of the day it sounds like about 35 different Beatles songs. Animal is something only PJ could have conjured up.
I don't know, thirty five Beatles songs sounds better than Animal.

:luv:
These guys get it.

All Those Yesterdays is no slouch, and it's clearly the more sophisticated composition, but I don't think that necessarily makes it more enjoyable to listen to or a better, more effective song. Animal just hits like a sexy ton of bricks, even now.

I love "Animal". I just don't think it measures up to "All Those Yesterdays". There are a few other songs this round I would vote for "Animal" over.

I would definitely vote for ATY over some other songs in this round too - No Way, for instance, or Hard to Imagine.

Bad example. Both of those are better songs. But yeah.

Don't you think you ought to rest?
Don't you think you ought to lay your head down?
Don't you think you want to sleep?
Don't you think you ought to lay your head down tonight?

Don't you think you've done enough?
Oh, don't you think you've got enough, well maybe.
You don't think there's time to stop
There's time enough for you to lay your head down, tonight, tonight

Let it wash away
All those yesterdays

What are you running from?
Taking pills to get along
Creating walls to call your own
So no one catches you drifting off and
Doing all the things that we all do

Let them wash away
All those yesterdays
All those yesterdays
All those paper plates

You've got time, you've got time to escape
There's still time, it's no crime to escape
It's no crime to escape, it's no crime to escape
There's still time, so escape
It's no crime, crime.
All those yesterdays

It's probably the third best song on Yield. Maybe second. Maybe first. Definitely top three.

^^You guys both have Low Light way too... low. One caveat: these are ALL at least 4 star songs, so it's relative.

Let's stop this AtY circle jerk.

Makes me feel 17 again.

^^Post of the year.

Watch Stone's quiet ownage of that killer riff.

Analysis is paralysis. Vote for the one that lights a 1993 fire under your ass.
