I just watched the first episode because I couldn't decide what eles to watch on my day off. Now I'm wanting to go back and rewatch the whole series.

I did too. Every season so far has been great. I just didn't think the B and C stories were as strong in season 2.

I remember reading that BET cuts out all the dock stuff from season 2 in it's airings of The Wire.

So season 2 becomes about 45 minutes of footage?

Season 4 is really, really good. I like season 2 better, but most people think 4 is the best.

First 4 or 5 eps weren't great. Then, it just clicks.

Season Ranks:
4
3
2
1
5

All of the seasons were really good. I'm wondering if my rankings will change when I eventually watch this whole series again.

Nice. It's just going to be weird without

It is weird at first, but you get so into what's going on in the new season that you kind of forget.

This is very true. Life goes on so to speak. Out with the old, in with the new.

I'm glad this did not happen, but the series could have ended at the end of season 3. Season 4 takes a whole 'nother turn, and like season 1 is big time on the slow burn factor. But...the payoff is great, and for me, it ends up being the best season, or very close to the best season. I really like 3 too, so I go back and forth.

Ranking them now, I'd do:

Season 4
Season 3
Season 1
Season 2
Season 5

Yeah, hand in there doug rr; it's worth it! The show has many slow episodes, but then there is the payoff episode(s) that make it all worth while. It just gets better and better. Then if you rewatch the series, you'll see how excellent season 1 really is.
