Maybe "Johnny Guitar" is sung from Billy Billy Micropenis's point of view

If Pearl Jam release a song entitled "billy, billy micropenis" I will take back every bad word I have ever said about Avacado and Backspacer.

It would have been Frank's favorite song.

Can a studio version possibly live up to the expectations those who already love the song would have of it?

I'm pretty indifferent to Of The Earth, but I'd be open to a studio version because I'm a person who almost unanimously prefers studio versions to live versions and think a more detailed, precise version might change my mind. That being said, most Pearl Jam fans seem to prefer live versions to studio versions, so I would venture to guess that if Of The Earth does in fact end up on the album, the strongest narrative surrounding it will be that it was a blown opportunity.

The more I listen the more boring I think it is. I think it requires a studio version with more pronounced nuisances and more developed vocals.

I think Pearl Jam's recent material already has enough of these.

Sorry poor combo of words . Perhaps just nuisances that compliment the driving riff. That are there and contribute .

You're close but I think you might need to check your spelling on 'nuance'. Not being a dick either, I knew what you meant.

Indeed.......the potential is there though. However after the slew of new Ed merchandise I don't see it ever working lyrically.

I really like the middle section, I remember thinking it was very exciting and parts of it sounded almost latin-jazz-y.

I'm on board with the second half of the jam , Ed wailing and then the transition back the the main riff. The transition into the jam comes off too clunky though.
