I remember an attempt to slow that bridge section down to try and get a better idea what he's saying there. Don't remember the outcome. Definitely didn't sound like what pearljam.com has listed for it though.

PJ dot com just copies and pastes the lyrics on their site from other internet sites. It's totally stupid. Don't trust them.

I'm mean officially I'm all like :gomez: but :haha: .
Of course. You wouldn't want the rest of your tree gang to think otherwise.

I don't know what the lyrics are on the studio version, I'm not sure they're even words in some cases, but I'm pretty sure for the live performances Ed sings something about "newspapers on the road" while Jeff and Stone (?) sing "fall as the tree falls".

Come ON RVM! Someone come and sort this out!

The build up through this song just kills me every time. Love it.

If In My Tree wasn't clearly the superior song, I'd switch my vote and wrap this up.

But In My Tree is clearly the superior song.

I'm not sure anyone knows. Like Jorge said earlier in this thread (and many times before) it really sounds like some sort of backmasking.
