I'm glad you said something. I have been waiting to calm down before going off on his *ss.
also, just to be clear, the match was extended by an hour. The winning vote arrived in that hour, and the round ended at the end of the allotted hour, not with the addition of the vote.

In My Tree will square off against Syrio in the losers bracket.
You sonuva...

Cut Stip some slack guys. It really can't be easy for him to spend so much time organizing this every year only for his favorite songs to be eliminated one after another by songs he doesn't even see the appeal of.

Since I don't know if people are fucking with me or legit can't follow the logic I'll err on the side of stupid.

In past rounds, when matches were tied, we left voting open for the duration of the next round. But in all these cases leaving a match open did not delay the tournament since we could move onto the next bracket.

Starting with the quarterfinals every song is involved in every round. This means that holding a match open has one of two consequences:

1. We delay the entire tournament for a day or two waiting for 2-3 extra people or accounts to vote (again). Imagine the bitching. I'll wait...

2. We continue with the tournament, but hold up the one match waiting on a result for a predetermined period of time. Say, increments of an hour. Why do it this way, you ask? It moves things along, gives the match waiting on contested results almost as much time as the other matches, and generally avoids sudden death, which I hate. There is no way to know who may vote in that hour, and no way to close off the results once you get the outcome you want.

3. RVM and In My Tree were given one more hour to see if a vote came in. Rather then say 'I'll leave it open until I get into work', an arbitrary and unverifiable closing time, the end of additional voting time was clearly posted.

4. In that time one more vote was cast for RVM.
Spoiler: show
Because fuck in my tree, that's why!
No other votes were cast.

5. RVM was declared the winner

I am glad that RVM won and was also only fucking with you. It's always my preference that these things should be decided quickly so everyone can move on, dragging it out isn't fun.

Ha. That was my vote. I had a feeling it would be the deciding vote. Good timing.

Suck it, In My Tree.

Okay.

I would encourage you to drop the "through next round" nonsense and make very match, regardless of round, a more sudden death type of thing for next time.

sudden death is terrible. I've always hated it, and only try to use it when absolutely necessary. All it does is award Australians who happen to be awake when I arrive at work.

Okay.

Sure. I'm just saying be consistent. Changing things up at a certain point is worse than sudden death throughout.
