Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
Stone has had Studio Litho forever. I know they recorded part of No Code there.

Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
Ever since Yield they would bring in personal demos for the whole band to hear and work on. That record opened up the songwriting process to the whole band more than ever. If I'm not mistaken, the whole "jam on the road" and "jam in the studio" stuff stopped with No Code.
Would love for them to try that again. Maybe that's one of the new approaches they talked about in South America. But I'll believe it when I hear it.

Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
I like the whole "being less precious" about it. It doesnt need to be this huge event. It sounds like the thought of making a record becomes stressful for them because they feel they have to tour and do all this promotion. Make it a huge event.evenslow wrote:Ever since Yield they would bring in personal demos for the whole band to hear and work on. Just go in and hammer out some tunes, loose, messy, organic, and release it. Doesn't need to be a world event.

I think S/T was built in the studio, as in no demoing.

Huh, you're right.

The S/T record is so, so much better than the last two.

It's been said a million times but just imagine better mastering, less brickwall, no fadeout on Life Wasted, and then shitcanning Gone for one of the left-off tracks. MUCH BETTER.

Doesn't Stone own Studio Litho?tragabigzanda wrote:All of these bands invested in their own studios when they first got a little money, which has made the finances of their careers waaaaay easier to manage.digster wrote:Spoon, Wilco, Sonic Youth, TV On The Radio, etc, off the top of my head.
