The last few games, the Leafs have played a line with William Nylander and Kasperi Kapanen. My "I'm getting old" moment was when I remembered back to the first hockey video game I ever really played when I was a kid, NHL '96, and realized that Sami Kapenen wasn't even in it yet.

Fun fact: Brooks Laich assisted on William Nylander's first career goal the other day, just under seven years after he assisted on Michael Nylander's last career goal.

I still rock NHL 94 and 95 on Sega now and again. I don't Hasek had even made an all star game yet. Good times.

That sucks, I hope he recovers without any lingering problems. I love watching Malkin play when he's healthy.

Did you guys see the Eichel OT goal against the Canes? Pretty slick. His skating looks so awkward but he's pretty fast.

Why? It's only actually a problem if the teams on the ice aren't trying to win.

It's a problem if teams are trying to lose get high draft picks, yeah. There is some speculation that that is happening.

Exactly. Trading away pending free agents for good young players and prospects is good asset management even if it makes the current on-ice product worse. Some teams are putting less talented players on the ice, but those players and coaching staff are always trying to win the games.

Pens clobbered the Caps last night, but Oshie throwing right fists at a defenseless Crosby certainly makes me laugh.

So the Leafs are doing their best to ruin their draft position again, but for once it's not a terrible thing because it's the kids leading the way. I could not be happier with the direction this team is heading. It's been just over a year since they started to rebuild, and things are already looking way up.

My gut reaction after seeing the play was 5 games (it works out well as the remainder of regular season).

That's what I would say too, but I would be surprised with anything more than two.

Amazingly, it's the second time in his career that he's given someone a one-handed slash to the face.
