trump's decision to employ the hells angels for security remains a great idea and will not result in something controversial occurring during the next 8 months of aggressive discourse

Well, I thought I had sworn off Trump, but if your suggestion ever came to fruition...

No doubt they were concerned about the constitutional legitimacy of seizing the property of once and future citizens during wartime via executive order, especially as many of those citizens may not have actively supported secession--preferring, no doubt, that the process of emancipation happen via a Constitutionally proscribed amendment. I'm sure the remaining voters were against it because it didn't go far enough, only freeing slaves in the rebellious south and not emancipating slaves in the border states still loyal to the union.

So there's no way Obama's gonna drop the exempt/non-exempt employment bomb before the election, right? I mean, that would kill the Dems.

Facebook status I saw today:
I hope every Trump rally from here on in gets shut down. His supporters aren't deserving of tolerance or even dialogue. They set the tone and they will deal with the consequences; no mercy, no sympathy.
Fascism is not to be debated, it is to be smashed.
Look, I think think the stuff Trump has been saying is deplorable, and the fact that he has used such rhetoric and has a legitimate shot at the presidency is greatly upsetting. But that post, ironically, sounds like the words of a true fascist.

It sounds like an authoritarian who is not a fan of promulgating hate speech, but it isn't fascism. Fascism is an actual ideology with very specific tenets. This word gets abused almost as much as socialism.

This is a poor defense of a person advocating violence to stop political speech they don't like. Me thinks if one of Trump's bigot brigade had said something similar, but aligned with their view, you would not be so gentle.

Edit: What exactly has Trump said that is "hate speech", other than the misinterpreted "Mexican immigrants are rapists" thing? The Muslim database?

i wasnt defending the ideology. im a political theorist by training and this is a pedantic pet peeve of mine. i loathed W Bush and argued many times that he wasnt a fascist. there are lots of words in the english language to describe things we dont like. we should use them.
