1-20: Chorus and the Ring vs. I Remember California

Two plodding late album numbers. I remember California is a pretty good song, but it's on an album with Pop Song 89, you are the everything, Untitled 11th song, world leader pretend, etc. It's diminished by the company that it keeps.

Chorus and the Ring isn't surrounded by nearly as many heavyweights, and so I may credit the song a tiny more bit than it deserves. But while they're both trying to tap into something heavy, I think Chorus and Ring captures it ancient mysteries hiding in plain sight more effectively than IRC's dreamtime weariness. And that second verse in C+R is sublime

It's the poison that in measure brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink that we expect in southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea

It gets my vote for that verse alone.

Man, I love Chorus and The Ring. Such a great cadence and melody to this song.

I had to listen to both, but it became obvious I like California more.

I like them just about the same, I voted for California, but Im really not sure about my choice.

Don't care that much about both of them. I liked "Chorus and The Ring" a little bit more on my last listen so I'll go with that one.
