I wonder how much presale tickets reflect the long term pull a movie will have vs. the short term blast it'll receive from a dedicated fanbase.

Though any movie that does well there is gonna make some money.

I think a lot of the young teen novels that get turned into movie franchise tend to have that large initial rush to the theater by the die hards and then go away quickly. I'm assuming that out performing Star Wars in presale would indicate a strong desire to see the movie by a lager segment than just hardcore fans that would extend a few weeks out for people that couldn't get in opening weekend....I expected to be able to walk right in a get a seat this weekend based on the general negativity I've seen directed towards this movie online but I might be out of luck.

I'm hoping enough people will be celebrating Jesus on Sunday and I can get in.

Yeah, I was gonna go see this with some friends on Friday night but now I think I might try for a morning show instead.

I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

My two favorite reviewers (the later more for comic book/pulpy entertainment) both excoriated this.

I hope you don't get blinded by the "visuals" and are able to see the excessive tying in to the DC Universe and take that into account when you write your review.

Eisenberg delivers every line like he thinks the villains on the 1966 Batman show were too nuanced.

Of all the things in this movie worth criticizing, this is one I'll step up and defend. Affleck is the most compelling portrayal of Batman we've seen on screen. Leagues above Bale, whom I really liked.

I don't doubt that he has the chops to pull it off. But I can't ever divorce his characters from his being Ben Affleck in real life. The only recent role I thought he knocked out of the park was in Gone Girl, because that character basically was Ben Affleck.
Once again, trag, this is your personal issue, and has nothing to do with the movie.

it's definitely the thing I'm most excited for. Even Devin Farci's vicious review was full of praise for Afleck, and hopes that the response to BvS doesn't jeopardize the possibility of a solo Batfleck film

Of course we all know that Will Arnet will be the definitive Batman of our time, so Afleck should enjoy his 15 minutes

Lol. LV is absolutely going to love this
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most visually beautiful comic book movies you have ever seen. The picture is filled with moments of visual poetry and pure cinema in a way that resembles one glorious splash page after another. If you have any interest in seeing it, I beg of you to see it on the biggest IMAX screen you can find. It is every bit as big and spectacular as you might hope.

The best moments of Dawn of Justice resemble nothing less than a feature length adaptation of a series of Alex Ross paintings in all their naturalistic glory. But amid the visual treats is an utter mess of thinly sketched characters, haphazard plotting, surprisingly jumbled action, and “cut your nose to spite your face” world building. It’s not a success either as a stand-alone Man of Steel sequel or a would-be kick-off to the DC Extended Universe, and attempts to insert Batman and his Super Friends do real damage to the story and thus the film. And, my word, this movie is almost a self-parody on “grimdark.”
