Yeah he's a good example of why Star Wars works better with unknown actors.
is that the 'other' resistance pilot? What's he from?

Heroes. I don't think he's a very good actor at all; just friends with JJ Abrams. I expected his last name to be Porkins.

He definitely had a 'I am someone's friend or I won some sort of contest' feel to him.

Finally seen this! It was alright. Good new main characters, mediocre plot that might serve as good groundwork for good plots in the next two movies. Excited to see more of Rey and Kylo especially.

Not a fault of this movie specifically but more of Star Wars in general: I just don't care for big action scenes. Spaceships blowing things up never ever excites me in the slightest. This leaves me pretty bored for some parts of these movies. If it were to me the action could be reduced to the important light saber fights. Throw everything else out.

Looking forward to hearing RMs thoughts once you've all watched this again at home and been able to flick back and forth and digest it properly.

I saw it twice in the theater, I don't really expect my opinion of the overall movie to change much once I have it at home.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Return of the Jedi
3. The Force Awakens
4. A New Hope
5. Revenge of the Sith
6. The Phantom Menace
7. Attack of the Clones

A New Hope is really overrated.

Is there a post where you detail why you didn't like this movie? And is it better than, "It's too much like Ep.4."?

I honestly don't remember. But that's not why I hate it.
