He really does look a lot older now than he did in BB (while Odenkirk miraculously looks younger). I'm telling myself it's because he starts living the good life after he hooks up with Fring's crew, and that takes a few years off his brow.

Jimmy's still got a long way to go before he's in his Breaking Bad "starting position". Remember the very first thing he suggests when confronted by Walt and Jesse is to kill Badger. Can you really picture Jimmy McGill, as we know him right now, to be so nonchalant about murder?

Something's gotta happen to get him there.
agreed, there is still a way to go yet, and it's doubtful that it will happen in the next 3 episodes. it will take some really clever editing and makeup work to get through another pre-bb season, but they've done a pretty good job so far.

Anyone concerned with how old Mike or even Jimmy look in this show is missing the point entirely.

I was really glad that last night's opening flashback to Jimmy's Dad's store still had Jimmy stealing money from the till. It was obvious that we were going to have some sort of explanation of the story Chuck told Kim last week. I was just worried that that explanation was going to entirely exonerate Jimmy. It definitely didn't. It changed the complexion of Chuck's story, but Jimmy was in fact still there stealing money from his Dad.
That's what this show has been really good at: humanizing Jimmy/Saul without turning him into a saint. On Breaking Bad, he was a scumbag with a heart of gold. It's even better now.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. BCS has the benefit of an already established world with some established characters, so they don't really need to spend much time on exposition and fleshing out the world.

Bullshit. Multiple seasons in, Breaking Bad was still getting lost in the holes of its own stories. Much less time is wasted in BCS than in BB. Just think about 90% of what Skylar or Marie did. All wasted time. BCS doesn't waste time because it has a clearer focus.

Don't click this spoiler if you don't want to know about a possible big cameo

I hope the cameos don't get hokey. The twins showing up started pushing it that way.

This. The only time it even occurs to me is when I read this thread.

For half a second when Jimmy pulled up to that 24-hour print shop, I thought we were going to see Stringer Bell in there. I got confused about what show this is a spin-off from.

My prediction as to how the rest of the season pans out:
Spoiler: show
HHM gets in trouble with Mesa Verde over the errors in those documents, which go against the whole dotting-the-i's-crossing-the-t's approach Chuck sold them on. Chuck believes Jimmy did it, but Howard's not convinced. Howard believes Chuck is paranoid and might be starting to finally lose it, letting his disdain for his brother get the better of him. Howard calls Chuck's mental wellbeing into question and starts exploring the possibility of cashing him out of the firm. Jimmy must choose whether to speak up and fess up to the document doctoring and destroy his relationship with Kim, or stay silent and watch his brother lose the one last thing that was keeping him going: his law career.
Meanwhile, Mike hits the Salamancas hard and establishes himself as a key player in the ABQ underground, bringing him to the attention of one Gustavo Fring.
Let's revisit this in two weeks to see how embarrassingly wrong I was.
