Also, adding a few marshmallows to brown sugar keeps it from clumping.doug rr wrote:if you bake a lot like we do, grating a frozen stick of butter sure does the trick...add it to flour etc...also works when your butter is too cold to spread on toast or whatnot

sometimes I forget that I'm boiling water for eggs and 15 minutes later I hear the water boiling over the top of the pot..you can lay a wooden spoon over the top and it will no longer boil overLoathedVermin72 wrote:hey did you guys know that you can hard boil eggs

On the topic of corn, if you put your ears of corn in a pot of cold water, then put the stove top on high, when the water begins to boil the corn will be perfectly cooked. I started using this method just a year or so ago and works great.

I just put them on the grill or in the over, husks and all, for about 30 minutes or so.

I agree this is a preferred method. But in the case of an early winters storm or rainy day when you still crave corn when it is available, the boiling pot method does the trick.cutuphalfdead wrote:I just put them on the grill or in the over, husks and all, for about 30 minutes or so.
