Make it All Okay was a grower--a song I passed over when Around the Sun first came out that I would now likely rank in the top half of the album. The music and lyrics are nothing to write home about, but I like the slow and subtle build, and it's one of those songs (electron blue is another) that really just brings home how much I enjoy listening to Michael Stipe sing.

But Man-Sized Wreath is a huge blast of over the top infectious energy. It's Stand with a political message. It was a much needed Mike Mills showcase after several records without one. And it's just a fabulous song.

And I love how Stipe introduces the song on Olympia by saying it's probably not going to make the album, with Mills telling him its too soon to make that call

Man-Sized Wreath might be my favorite song from their last 3 albums.

Big fan of both of these, but "Man-Sized Wreath" is really REM the rock band firing on all cylinders. It takes me right back to spring of '08, right before I got married, driving home from my last semester of college with the windows down. Vote for "MSW."
