Yeah but if it doesn't immediately advance the plot then it is unnecessary so cut that shit outbada wrote:The desert scene was Batman getting a vision (presumably being sent to him by the Flash) of the future with an corrupted Superman under the control of Darkseid and Batman leading the resistance. Now, Batman had great physicallity, but totally unbelievable how he was fooled by silly provocations written in checks...I mean, how the hell the world greatest detective thought that was Superman doing that? And why so whiny about the death of his parents when he is a already mature Batman?Human Bass wrote:I watched. It is a mess, but a fun one. It was clear how desperate DC is trying to rush things to catch up with Marvel.

The fight between Bat and Super was cool, better than I expected. Although it could be easily avoided if Super had seated on the ground instead of walking foward.
The whole "dream in the desert" sequence was random and unecessary as fuck, like Snyder thought "it would be cool Batman fighting in Counter-Strike Dust, so let put this on the movie".
And Lex Luthor felt so pointless and without any real focus besides trolling. I guess in the beginning he wanted the prestige of creating a weapon useful against Superman, then he forgot about that.
And we had enough Snyder in our lives already.
He wasn't supposed to think Superman had anything to do with the checks. They were just supposed to trigger him that he, yet again, let someone in his "family" die. It wasn't the most clever idea, but it completely works given that Bruce had already made his mind up about what he was planning to do.

To make this scene better you wanted Superman to act like a toddler?

This was one of those many moments where the movie isn't holding your hand. I think this scene just totally went over your head, but it made total sense. Just read up about Injustice (or full on read the comics. They are outstanding!).

He looked pretty happy that Batman had stolen the weapon. Almost as if things were going according to his plans...

Well it allowed the audience to see Batman's fear of a out of control Superman and why he felt he needed to put Supes down.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah but if it doesn't immediately advance the plot then it is unnecessary so cut that shit outbada wrote:The desert scene was Batman getting a vision (presumably being sent to him by the Flash) of the future with an corrupted Superman under the control of Darkseid and Batman leading the resistance. I'm not convinced Lex was in control of himself at any time during the movie. I think he was under the influence of Darkseid.HardTI wrote: He looked pretty happy that Batman had stolen the weapon. Almost as if things were going according to his plans...

I think mostly it was about the unintended consequences of our actions and how you can't let guilt of those consequences paralyze you into inaction but you need to learn from them.

Yes, and I think it's also an interesting counterpoint to Batman's visions. The mortal man has visions of doom at the hands of a god, while the god has visions of quiet humanity.bada wrote:HardTI wrote:10+ viewings and I still don't understand Pa Kent's scene...

He clearly did some body-thickening in that scene, both Bat and WW loocked extra thick.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I don't know, I think you were accusing Snyder of artificial leg-thickening or somethingHuman Bass wrote:What you didn't understand?LoathedVermin72 wrote:In most circles, I don't understand people's complaints about this movie because I think they're dumb. But man do I tend to hate visions/dreams in films. There's usually a better way. But I'll wait to see this before I'm too hard on how it's used in this movie. Every once in a while they work well enough that I can let them go.

I do generally agree with you on that, Joey. But I think Snyder's execution was wonderful here.
