Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
A mixed bag. I thought the ladder match was very good, and while it's nice to smile for Ryder, I have no idea where it will go from there. I fast-forwarded through Styles-Jericho. The tag match was pretty good, but it was cringe-inducing what they did afterwards. I thought the women's match was great, even if the ending was pretty telegraphed--also, with all the back-patting they're going to do in the next few weeks about renaming the women's championship (it's 2016--at this point, you've gotta apologize for it, not celebrate it), it sorta sucked how this mega-hyped match ended with interference.
The "street fight" seemed oddly short and slow, as others have said. It's tough to watch any Brock match and feel tension, since they've gotta keep up the monster schtick. Shane was game but it wasn't his fault that be was fighting a creaky old man. The battle royal was a mess. Shaq???
I'm fine with Reigns winning cleanly (even if the match was unimaginative) as long as whatever comes next is an interesting story, not just a run of rematches with HHH and the inevitable feud with Lesnar. I'm sure we've all got dream bookings in our head, but I don't have much faith.
And is Cena going to feud with the Wyatts again? Great.

I like how the Battle Royal's become the new Divas "let's take a break" match.
I'd put that somewhere in the middle as far as WrestleManias go. A bunch of solid to good matches with the main events underdelivering and some piss poor booking.

IF Sasha Banks and Shane had won, that main event would have been somewhat tolerable. IF something cool had happened in the main event it would have made up for the inane booking calls earlier in the show. Instead they just went with the worst outcome for everything.

yeah i'm not a fan of a swerve that doesn't advance or create a story...but this event needed something else to happen
also i kinda liked the battle royal...i'm a shaq hater in general, but i was amused by his participation

That was like a Bischoff-era WCW PPV, it just left you with a "well wtf" reactions.

i didn't see any ppv's back in the day, but watching this i though to myself that it probably had that feel
i want to watch the steph bit again just to see if it really was that ridiculous...it caught me off guard a bit and i was in wtf mode the whole time
i also didn't really have high expectations for this at all, but it was worse than i anticipated

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
The Rock's segment was the worst. Why do they keep bringing this guy back for these kind of moments? I much preferred Austin/Foley/Michaels.
Fell asleep during the main event.
Womens match was the best of the night and I don't mind the interference if it means Sasha taking the championship off Charlotte in a singles match down the line.
As bad or lackluster as the show may have been, don't forget the worst Wrestlemania will always be IX. Always.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
My only problem with the show was the finishes, but it was a huge problem(well the Rock eating up a half hour and burying the Wyatts sucked too.) The matches were almost all good. Stephanie was so over the top that I liked it.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i didn't see any ppv's back in the day, but watching this i though to myself that it probably had that feel

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
There was a chance to create a few stars last night, and they passed on all of them. How does it benefit anyone for Jericho to go over Styles, it does nothing for Jericho and halts the momentum AJ had. I'm not saying Sasha or Ambrose needed to win, but a win for either of them would have been huge for their careers. Did they job out New Day just to give the old timers a moment? Tell me how it benefits the company to have three retired old men overshadow the hottest group in the business?

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
Yeah I thought Jericho winning was the worst decision of the night, especially kicking out of the Styles Clash.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
It tells me that they don't think much of Styles, which is unreal considering the reactions he's been getting even through this boring as shit Jericho feud.

I love how the Rock is acting like that attendance record(which is BS btw, the attendance was under 100k) was his doing.

HHH's Wrestlemania entrances are always weird as fuck. Here are three more, spread out over like 10 years:lennytheweedwhacker wrote: i want to watch the steph bit again just to see if it really was that ridiculous...it caught me off guard a bit and i was in wtf mode the whole time

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
What do you think Vince has penciled in for WM next year? Probably Reigns-Lesnar, booked as a rematch...maybe HIAC so no one else can get involved? Rock & Cena as a team vs. someone. Undertaker vs. Kane? Something fucking stupid like that.

I've seen some video taken by people that were at the event and the Reigns boos were deafening, they definitely muted the shit out of that crowd for TV.

I'd be ok with The Rock going away forever.
