I'm convinced Chicago will be powerless until Kaner shaves off that ridiculous mullet.

Re: NHL Thread
Boston is not getting near enough respect for their playing style. They have an amazing forecheck, the number of scoring opportnities they generate off of it is astonishing. They are a much better passing team than people give them credit for. And their pack metality, when they keep it in check is lethal.
I like this team more than the 2011 team. Marchand is not as big a rat, Kaberle is not on the team and I like their overall demeanour a lot more this year. It seems like this is more Bergeron's team and temperment rather than Thomas' team and temperment. As awesome as Rask has played, I hope Bergeron wins the Conn Smythe.
Loved the t-shirt the dancing Bruin was wearing last night, "Keep calm and Bergeron".

Re: NHL Thread
I am really shocked at how many young players Boston has.
Marchand 25
Krejci 27
Bergeron 27
Seguin 21
Horton 28
Daugavins 25
Caron 22
Hamilton 20
McWuaid 25
Bartkowski 25
Krug 22
Rask 26
If they can keep the majority of the team together, they will be a cup contender for a few more years.

Re: NHL Thread
agreed, but since they both have expiring contracts after the cup, i think it's either/or for Horton & Rask. They might be able to keep them both if they can move Peverley, but i don't see that happening. so it's the guys you listed above, and:surfndestroy wrote:I am really shocked at how many young players Boston has.

Re: NHL Thread
If you can only keep one, you keep Rask. With Horton requiring off-season shoulder surgery which may adversely affect his game, I would prefer to keep Peverley and depth at center. I'd rather the Bruins move Boychuck in order to keep Horton. I think Boychuck is vastly overpaid. Maybe they can get trade Seidenberg to open up spot for Hamilton and save money. It is scary what the Bruins have signed.elliseamos wrote:agreed, but since they both have expiring contracts after the cup, i think it's either/or for Horton & Rask. no, peverley needs to go. boychuck and seidenberg are crucial because ference is a free agent. you let him walk and keep krug and hamilton in the NHL next year to keep you at 6 d-men.surfndestroy wrote:If you can only keep one, you keep Rask. He's hard not to love, for a B's fan. He puts the same amount of effort at both ends of the ice. If not more in his own end. And an absolute beast on the dot. He was 24 for 28, last night.warehouse wrote:bergeron might be the most underrated player in the league. dude is a stud everywhere

Re: NHL Thread
If they buy out Peverley and/or Kelly does that leave them with enough room to sign Rask and Horton? I wouldnt go crazy on Horton though, as great of a playoff performer as he is, he sleep walks through most of the season. He's a rich man's Michael Ryder.elliseamos wrote:no, peverley needs to go. boychuck and seidenberg are crucial because ference is a free agent. you let him walk and keep krug and hamilton in the NHL next year to keep you at 6 d-men.surfndestroy wrote:If you can only keep one, you keep Rask. Re: NHL Thread
37 is going up into the rafters when he's done...I've heard that suggested before but never really took it seriously...but after this playoff run and how much this is obviously his team I think I'd be more shocked if his number wasn't retired when he's done...massive respect for him
Horton is gone...just don't see them ponying up what some other GM will stupidly offer (I'm looking at you Glen Sather...though would a current Bruin, Horton especially, actually want to play for Vigneault?)
Rask has made himself stupid money with this playoff run...like top of the line goalie money if he wants it...could some team swoop in and make him a ridiculous offer sheet if he hasn't signed a new deal with the Bruins by the time free agency starts?
