Heard that news. Wonderful. This album deserves to be remixed.

I understand why they want to remix ISM, but I'm afraid the sound of that album is so engrained in me that I won't like what they change. If it's possible to love that thing more than I do, then it's worth a shot.

When I listen to those songs live, especially on Okokoknkoknokkos - I can't help but feel sad for their treatment on the album.

I love the album and im super excited to hear it how it should be heard.

Word. They're a great live band, and that can't be discounted.

I'm tentatively excited. It's not as if this release will ruin the original recording. I'll always have it. I just can't help but think that maybe they don't realize how much that album, in it's original form, resonated with a huge amount of people. The distant, ghostly sound is inseparable from the composition of the songs on ISM, and it connected deeply with a lot of people. Maybe it was unintentional, because they were in a rush or whatever, but it worked. I don't see how moving this or that forward or back or "cleaning" it up is necessary. Maybe I'm confusing mixing and production? I'm not sure exactly what they mean to fix.

I'd love it if they just did another "Live From Las Vegas" type recording of Tennessee Fire. The songs have evolved so much.

Great shows this weekend as usual.

One thing I noticed....and its a theory im still working on but here it is:

My Morning Jacket fans are primed, prepped, and ready to become the new Jamily. There were tons of fans there with matching T Shirts with "One Big Family" on them. Also, the crowd participation is there as well. its not full on yet but i think its happening. Its only a matter of time.

This weekend was my 7th time seeing them, but first since 2010. They are usually great, but these shows seemed to have more. They are becoming a better band, stretching themselves and going for something bigger than just a great performance of well written songs. I thought I knew what MMJ was all about live, but these shows let me see that they are and can be more.

Did you pick up on that Strat or was the fungus just really that good?

ive seen them quite a few times over the past couple years so ive kind of already gone through that with the band. This weekend was really nice because the sets and the vibe of both nights were completely different. Night 2 seemed to be a little more jammy, relaxed, and out there allowing them to stretch their wings a bit. I think "Easy Feeling" and "easy like sunday morning" were quite fitting for the evening. Night 1 felt more immediate and in your face.

Both amazing shows. Yim Yim also seemed to play the role of guitar god night 2.

I listened to their cover of True Love Ways from that Buddy Holly "Rave On" compilation. I'd forgotten how lovely that cover is and how much I randomly enjoy this band.

Such a great song.

Jim Yim fucked up majorly trying to guitarmonize during the outro the other night. Was pretty funny.
