I was more excited for TFA, but there's plenty of room for me to still be quite excited for this.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I am WAY more excited about this movie than I was TFA. Holy crap.@SkitchP wrote:That looks really good. Like a lot better than TFA. And I liked TFA.

I've never played Star Wars battlefront but it kinda looked like that. Still. Exciting to have a story outside established go to characters. Whoever they got for Mon Mothma looks spot on.

that shot of the hatch closing on the death star (didn't know it could do that) was excellent.
Honestly one of the things I'm most interested in is how they use the music without John William scoring. the major themes are such a vital part of the feel of star wars. I like what we heard in the trailer

that little martial arts takedown of the storm troopers felt a tiny bit out of place, though.

This is going to be great, though the trailer didn't floor me; they focused, understandably, more on the "Star Warsy" stuff than the Edwards visuals, which you really only get a taste of with the AT-AT bit.

I think that was them putting that piece in place during construction, not the hatch closing.stip wrote:that shot of the hatch closing on the death star (didn't know it could do that) was excellent.

Some really clunky dialogue and super exposition. But it's just a trailer. I'm sure some of that come across very differently in the context of the actual film. But aside from that.... super badass. Cast looks great. The tone/atmosphere looks great. The shots are gorgeous. The music was superb.
Yeah, there's a really strong chance this blows TFA out of the water.

I've been a supporter of this from the beginning. But I've still had my reasonable doubts. This helped calm my concerns. It will definitely be a pretty movie and should be well acted (as long as the director/editor aren't getting in their way too much).
The final component for me is the writing. How competent is the script? How good is the dialogue? How are the characters painted? The trailer has me really optimistic about this final piece. But again... there is that clumsy exposition and terrible one-linery. And there are ninjas?
Really pumped to see what this thing is, though. Great trailer.
