Imperial guards mean that is more likely the Emperor.

But he kneels. The emperor doesn't kneel for anybody

The set and costume design (I like that everything looks more low-tech compared to TFA).

The guy with the sword.

The Emperor.

Forest Whitaker.

The bad:

The mopey Star Wars theme plunked on a sad piano.

The "I rebel" line.

The girl who appears to be the star -- I'm not sold on her yet.

More Death Star.
She's a brilliant actress. I know she can do this. We'll see what they turn her into and/or let her do.

And as far as Death Star goes.... :haha: Did you expect less DS in a story about stealing the DS plans?

I have a feeling that about 75% of that trailer is gonna be from the first 20-30 minutes of the movie, which will likely be the most "Star Warsy." Lots of world/character setup.

I hope the final hour or so is entirely the heist.

I think it will be. That's where Edwards is really gonna stretch his wings.

Some very cool shots there. I wish they hadn't felt the need to use the "character with a rough past gets a chance at redemption" trope. It's fine, it's just so tiringly ordinary. You could easily have had this be a group of rebels who volunteered knowing it was a suicide mission, and had all manner of dramatic angles available to you. I could also do without Forrest W forever and ever and be just fine.

Not a fault of the movie, but it will have to work all the harder to build my enthusiasm because of its circumstances....a Star Wars film bookended by Star Wars films at least one of which has a Death Star and also there are all these recent comic book movies about rough back stories, redemption, and teamwork.

Oh, also, was there a space ninja in there?

That would be so fucking epic. Yeah, I want that. And that's all I want. I want that and this AT-AT, but that's it. That's all I need. That, this AT-AT and this paddle-ball game, and that's it! That's all I need. All I need is just that and this AT-AT and this paddle ball game and McParadigm...

And I don't even need McParadigm!

Honestly one of the things I'm most interested in is how they use the music without John William scoring. the major themes are such a vital part of the feel of star wars. I like what we heard in the trailer
I think that was them putting that piece in place during construction, not the hatch closing.
That's what i thought, too
still a great shot, though

Watching the trailer again... the look is so fantastic. It looks older than TFA but there are also a lot of setups, shots and VX that really remind me of TFA. This is going to tie in so well. Sexy.
