That's a very well-chosen setlist.

There are a handful of songs that are played faster now than in years past but it's not some across the board thing.

Really? I dunno, man -- I mean, there's definitely some "we're on stage, we're adrenalized, so naturally we're going to play faster than on the record" to be expected, but I'd think you'd be hard pressed to find many songs in their catalog that have retained their natural tempo. I think the degree to which it ruins the live performance is overstated, but certainly not the widespread presence of increased tempos.Birds in Hell wrote:There are a handful of songs that are played faster now than in years past but it's not some across the board thing.

I think the issue is also that they don't play to a click track, so some songs they've played a million times are naturally a lot faster than songs they rarely play. This isn't a PJ-only phenomenon; I've observed this with a lot of other bands that I follow and collect recordings over the years as well.Kevin Davis wrote:Really? Great setlist. Hope it sounded good. When was the last time the band played I Am a Patriot?

Perhaps I've just come to expect by now that rock bands will play their songs live significantly faster than the recorded versions to the extent that I don't find it remarkable unless the change is really excessive.

I thought the sound was good and the band's performance was pretty tight.
Ed screwed up some lyrics. Help help and who you are, had mistakes. A few more songs also had flubs.
Surrender was only partial. I am a patriot was ed solo and played based on a crowd sign. There was no en core break after baba
The trump mask came from the audience and ed threw it back in the crowd after he used it.
Ed shed some tears towards the end. He mentioned that former roadie scully? Just passed away, then did light years.
Last kiss played to the back of the arena.

Some cool stuff in there, but the setlist is all over the place. And no double openers is an interesting change.

I'm not sure how it will sound on the boot, but I thought ed sounded good. He took it easy on lightening bolt and maybe a couple of others but I was impressed that he sounded good on go, dte, and comatose.
