well, they're generally responsible for gas (unless i'm only familiar with anomalies), so that tends to bias me upwards.

No way do I tip on take out, that's a load of crap. I make a point of writing the total in and putting a line through the tip area too.

When I'm served at a restaurant I leave a standard 20% then I change it up or down according to service.

A little anecdotal evidence on why you should consider it: I started tipping $2 on our Chinese takeout. Ever since, my wait has never been more than 10 minutes, whereas before it was always 30 minutes. That $2 on a $25-$30 meal is really nothing.

The wait doesn't bother me so much as the fear that they might put some donkey meat in there. Either way, I'll still cheap out.

I don't always tip on takeout but I do from time to time at places I frequent. Mostly this is because I worked in a pizza shop throughout high school so I've been on the receiving end of take out tips. They remember you and definitely treat you better, even if it's just for a buck or two.

I struggle knowing if/how much to tip with the following situations.

- Haircut (I am bald and my haircuts take about 5 minutes when I don't do it myself)
- A bartender when I order one draft beer or bottle
- Pizza Delivery

i tip 2 bucks on my hair cut usually, dont know if there is a normal amount, but its usually 12 dollars for the cut and takes 20 minutes
i havent been to a lot of bars to drink, but when i do i either tip on the tab at the end, or tip 1 dollar each beer if im paying as i go, and its worked out well, 2 times i have gotten a free beer at somepoint because they poured the wrong one for someone and decided to give it to me at no charge, and i assume the tipping helped.
i dont ever order delivery pizza anymore, i usually just run out and pick it up or we just eat in, but when i did i usually tipped a couple of dollars on one pizza

Haircut = $3-5 (in your situation, however, I think $2 is fine)
Bartender = $1 per bottle
Pizza Delivery = 20% (those guys need the money more than you do)

I feel like $1 a bottle on a $3 beer is a bit steep. Wouldn't 50 cents work?

Yes, but guys don't carry loose change. Always round up or don't tip on the next beer.

By the way, I should've mentioned, if you're buying 4 bottles, I wouldn't tip $1 per. I think $2 total is adequate then.

Thats why I always order multiples, so I dont end up tipping $1 for each bottle/drink. Bring me two, and get a buck.

also, it's easier to get drunker quicker when double fisting.

This is true, and also reduces the risk of finishing one while the server is too busy to bring you another quickly. You give yourself a nice buffer zone.

$1-2 per drink at most places but a bit more at my local due to the freebies thrown my way..

My haircut place is $23 and I always give him $5

pizza guy normally gets $5

plumbers $10-20

Movers $20+ each guy
