I waited on Affleck and Garner once. She struck me as kind and polite; he struck me as the exact opposite.

I've never met either of them. But I have a few friends who have met Affleck. Not a single one of them has a nice thing to say about the guy. One of my friends actually watched him get super coked up in a club bathroom and then beat the shit out of a bartender. This was a long LONG time ago. Like, maybe before he and Garner were married.

Ha. One of my buddies used to work in a studio that was popular with major labels hip hop acts. One night they were on a session, and Puffy crashed the party with Matt Damon in tow. They were apparently on ecstasy, and Damon was wearing a stocking cap and shades, trying to look like a thug. They were apparently very high and very silly.

Damon can do what he wants, man. I love that guy. He's come into the restaurant my wife used to work at several times. He's always friendly and goofy with people and he tips like a fucking boss. Love that guy.

Fran was being an asshole? what?? When? The girl runs to the bathroom and text him and then continues to run, and after that he still tell her that they can go back to the city and still she doesnt want to? When a few moments before, everything seemed fine..

Just reverse the situation and imagine you're Hannah. She asked him not to come after her. He did anyway. She asked to be left alone. He chased her. She told him she didn't want to be with him and he hounded her. He then lashed out when he didn't get his way. You can sympathize with him because you're a guy and you chose to see the reasonable side of what Fran was doing and because you'll likely never be in a situation where a girl coming after you like that will threatening in the same way.

But yeah, I think a man going after a woman like that, refusing to listen to her and respect he wants/privacy. That's aggressive and shitty. The episode gave it a comedic twist, of course. And I don't think the writer/director wanted to have a seen about male/female violence and all of that. It was supposed to be a scene about two people who are dead wrong for each other behaving inappropriately and selfishly and watching that come to a comedic head. I get that. But that layer is there.

And it's especially clear in how mean his final words are to her. The fuck yous and the look in his eye. It's dark, man. I was uncomfortable watching it. And I think it was unnecessary on Fran's part.

I agree with that, also they were in a serious relationship and about to going on a three month trip. Yeah, he should have left her the moment he receive the text, and maybe reply to her - fuck off bitch- but he wanted some answers.
I agree maybe he wanted to fix her, maybe not...but im not sure if its realistic to have that guy with someone like Hanna.

I did really like the part where Hanna's mother went to that feminist retreat, and decided she would stick with her husband. I thought it was both very practical and loving -- at that stage of her life, he was more valuable as a companion than a romantic partner.

Yeah, it seemed fitting and honest.

I can not conceptualize any nexus of thought in which this makes sense.

Hannah is selfish and narcissistic and entitled. But she's also not 30 years old yet. Has tremendous talent and a positive self-image.

Walter Whit is selfish and narcissistic and entitled. But he's also in his 50s. Has a family to be held accountable to. Treated everyone around him like dirt. Oh, and was a psychopath. Even before he went all Heisenberg, he was an unlikable character. He was such a complete asshole. Terrible husband, terrible father, terrible friend. Used people to get what he wanted and the consequences were so much more extreme.

When has Hannah ever done anything approaching what Walt did to Skylar or to Hank or to Jesse?
