Both songs I like that I still rank towards the bottom of their respective albums. Vote for New Test Leper despite finding the premise of the song kind of obnoxious (KD, how does this not bother you but Mind Your Manners sets your teeth on edge?)

I think that both of these are wonderful songs.
New Test Leper takes this by a small margin.

Me too. One of Peter Buck's favorite songs, if I'm not mistaken.

I enjoy the song more musically, for starters -- but in general I don't get the same sense of flippant put-down from this that I do from "Mind Your Manners," nor do I think this song comes at you with the same expectation that you either hop on its bandwagon or get out of the way. It's easier for me to hear it as just a piece of work by a writer with whom I have a philosophical difference, especially as it moves into some ambiguity in the later verses that I've never really bothered to unpack, or at least as it relates to the opening lyrics.

I really just don't like anything about "Mind Your Manners." Even if they were my favorite Eddie lyrics ever, it would probably still be one of my least favorite songs they've done.
