But I really want Jeff, Stone and Mike to make a record without Ed. I'd LOVE to see what they come up with without the shadow of Vedder hanging over them.

Likewise, I'd love for Ed to do more solo stuff.
Me too. Ed needs a solo album to play with other musos. Not even session guys although that could be fantastic.

Jeff is doing good stuff with RNDM. I'm not sure I'd like a Mike, Jeff and Stone plus ???
Yeah that RNDM stuff is outstanding.

LetMeSleep wrote:"here its MYM sounds like something on Yield¨. - Nope, more like trying to recapture STBC
¨Pendulum is for those guys who love Riot Act¨ - Maybe a bit Binaural
¨Hey Yellow Moon could have been on vs¨ - More Yield or possibly Riot Act in tone.
:nice:

Much more in line with what I hear.

I kinda see MYM being on Yield because it sounds tight as Brain Of J or Evolution. And there is something about Eddie´s voice that remind me of that era.
Pendulum is a really spacey song, there is a lot of room there...it wouldnt fit Binaural, and Ed´s voice and the ah ahaha at the end could fit into RA after, let say, Help Help...And the structure of Yellow Moon, that sort of ballad that its not a ballad kinda reminds me of Small Town. Specially the bridge, it sounds like vintage PJ from 1993.

And yes, Jeff is the fuckin man. His output is incredible..and im a big fan of RNDM. Such a wonderful band.

Speaking of books, authorized or otherwise, it really is amazing how much they've been able to keep private over the years. You'd think we'd be able to get JA drunk and talking but no, it's always No JA with that guy.

I'm pretty sure Jeff's a robot they keep in a cupboard between tours and albums.

PJ is a rare bird out there. Not surprised that they might be a bit bored with themselves at this point. Most other bands, you know, break up before their 25th ann'y.

The Singularity is an era in which our intelligence will become increasingly nonbiological and trillions of times more powerful than it is today—the dawning of a new civilization that will enable us to transcend our biological limitations and amplify our creativity. See: Ament, Jeff.

"My Life in Rock" sounds like an article from a 1994 issue of Hit Parader magazine.

The 1994 vibe goes with their stated goal of writing songs that fit with the songs they were releasing from 1991 to 1992.

Let's assume this isn't self-evident. What approach should they take to make a good record.

Writing things that mean something to them. Creating sounds they find interesting. Stretching their boundaries. Anything but deliberately attempting to recapture something from decades ago.

OK. I find that a fair assessment. That makes good sense.

I know if you said that to Ament, he'd say, "Well, yeah, we're doing that too." But it sure wasn't he first thing he thought to say.

They fought to get it back again. But did they and could they?

Will this fighting go on?
