Completely. It's a modern Karate Kid. It uses a tight Hollywood script, fantastic camera work, and performances ranging from serveicable-to-great to tell a classic underdog story, only this time it's featuring beautiful women, some solid depictions of surf culture, and carries an understated feminism. It's so easily enjoyable, and it succeeds nearly perfectly at what it set out to do. I love it unabashedly.
