You have a point there. I'm glad it doesn't influence my opinions, though.

I have never loved Insignificance either. I think it is an ok PJ song.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I still don't get why people love "Insignificance" so much. Should not be put in the same category as NAIS or SOH.
Sleight of Hand is probably the best song they've ever written and NAIS is great.

Re: Song of the Moment: Evacuation
Just listened to the Bellingham show where they play this for the first time. Ed says "it's a great song but it's a bitch to song". Ha... I still really enjoy this one though. It has such a great bridge and some really nice guitar hooks, so I can look past all the wailing that commences.

No joke I don't remember there even being a bridge. I remember absolutely nothing but "EVACUATIOOOOOOOOOOOON EVAAAC-UATIOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"bluestate wrote:Just listened to the Bellingham show where they play this for the first time. The bridge is noteworthy for quite possibly being the single most overhyped on RM pearl jam moment in the entire catalog. It is otherwise ok.mikejasond wrote:No joke I don't remember there even being a bridge. I feel like there are interesting things going on with the composition that I would praise if I knew more about putting together songs, but overall it comes out as a grating, below-average song to me. One of the few moments on Binaural I just can't get into.

The most LOL thing about people discussing how the "bridge" does nothing for them is that there are three bridges.

That really makes you laugh out loud, does it? Also at least two of the bridges are basically identical

Re: Song of the Moment: Evacuation
Wait, whats the third bridge? Theres
"It's like you're waiting for a diamond shore to wash your way
Bets put aside, you're evil, let's crawl into your face
A vision, vague or not, raising a frightful wake-you-up
Time for evacuation"
and
"There was a solemn man who watched his twilight disappear in the sand
Altered by a fallen eagle, a warning sign
He sensed worry could be strength, with a plan said time for"

I hate when that happens to me. Finding the third bridge in songs is a real weakness of mine.
