Spoiler: show
They brought him back to life with magic. I'm sorry but that's just so dumb.

Then why make it happen in the first place? Why even kill someone if they are just going to come back to life two episodes later? Now anytime someone dies, we'll just think 'why doesn't the red lady just cast a spell?' And if someone dies, but Jon or Davos doesn't say 'hey red lady, cast that spell,' we'll think "wow Jon and Davos didn't actually like that guy." I do not see the point.

And Dany wasn't resurrected because she was never killed, but she survived a night on a funeral pyre.

but this one was so lame. Dany was cool because we learned something about her. The Mountain is cool because he didn't actually die and he came back as something different and even scarier. Beric Dondarrion exists only to prepare us for Jon Snow's resurrection. This is dumb.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
