I don't think it's fair to read that as the band "retiring" from social media, though. They've said nothing to that effect and they're clearly using their social media accounts to generate excitement for the announcement.

I think the white profile and wiped posts simply fit in with the "dawn chorus" aesthetic they're cultivating, whether that's the name of the album or whatever. Dawn, a fresh start, a new day, new beginnings, etc.

Like i said..all this new ways of promoting an album are boring me. Just release the goddamn thing.

Radiohead pioneered the digital age's "release an album with zero promotion." Let them have their fun!

That opening riff takes a few cues from "The Perfect Drug," doesn't it? It's kind of rigid and percussive, but also light and "twiggy", like kindling being piled together in a fire bed.

At first I was slightly underwhelmed by the song.

Then I listened to it on headphones.

The strings are menacing. It gets better with each listen. And I love the video.

Upon second viewing, I'm noticing that the "witch" being teased in the middle of the song is the one who lights that monstrosity in the end. Also, the cider drunkard is my favorite. Cool video.
