This all bodes so horribly for the democrats in 2020. The odds of Clinton being a two term president are slim

GOP Super PACs burned through roughly $375 million and have nothing to show for it. One of the few things I like about Trump is he could not be bought.
Maybe, just maybe, some kind of campaign finance reform can come from that. But I doubt it.

I can't disagree. I would love to see the Democrats develop some kind of national bench while the GOP is a mess. If they had one now they would have a stronger candidate than Hillary.

"I drive a truck" Scott Brown might've had the guts to do it, and he could've swung New Hampshire and maybe Maine (which has some weird-ass electoral college rules). But could he have won a big honey pot state?

For a while it seemed like he was setting himself up to have the image of the rogue Republican, not beholden to special interests, this is the people's seat kind of national candidate. I think that under the right circumstances of anti establishment anger that image could resonate with the people who latched onto the tea party after 2008 and help him in the rest of the country.

It has been fascinating to see all that money have no effect. I think it's great that Republican voters have completely rejected the establishment, I just wish they got behind a better candidate.

I hope the same thing happens to the democrats one day, and I think it will happen sooner rather than later, particularly if Hillary gets elected.

How likely is is that trump doesn't have a ton of ammo in reserve to use against hillary? That lady has more skeletons in her closet than pant suits.

Does it really matter? All he's gotta say is that she caused 9/11 or something and repeat it a few thousand times. The truth is irrelevant. People are stupid.

This year I think it will matter. The public mood is anti establishment and trump is going to have no trouble at all painting hillary as a corrupt career politician who will say and do anything to get elected. I think she's going to have a real problem.

I mean, I think that's what Burt was getting at: even if she does have skeletons, Trump is going to get a lot of mileage out of talking points with little basis in reality or relevancy (b/c, as Burt says, people are stupid). Last night, I saw anchors on CNN actually discussing whether suggesting Cruz's father was involved with the JFK assassination was "going too far." After everything that's happened, I think it's pretty clear that there is no "going too far."

If anything, it makes the argument against campaign finance regulation weaker--"see, all that money did jack shit, what's the problem?" Not saying that the argument in general is weak, though.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews was caught on a hot mic commenting on Melania Trump's "runway walk" during the network's Indiana primary coverage.

"Did you see her walk? Runway walk. My God is that good," Matthews could be heard saying as the Republican frontrunner's wife walked onto the stage.
"I could watch that runway show," Matthews said.
Spokespeople for NBC News and MSNBC have yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the remark.

Well I know nothing about her other than she will be a hugely easy pushover for the corporate and banking overlords but she is an accomplished negotiator internationally and has a backbone there.

But from the periphery she looks like the most willing and eager to work for the guys behind the curtain president ever.
