That 3-1 pitch to Papi in the 9th was tough, but I feel like there you just have to tip your cap and get ready for the next one (McCann's weird glove placement also made it look worse than it was). But that 3-2 call was fucking horrendous.

I thought Papi was way over the top tough guy stuff with that called strike, regardless of whether it was a strike or not.

Ugh, gotta win today. A sweep is bad newz.

When I think back to the Boone homerun in '03, it's actually surprising to me how much it still stings.

Man, there were some painful comments on RM1 that were (thankfully) lost after that game.

I have never seen that HR, I looked away when he hit it and have managed to avoid seeing it since.

Same--off the bat there was no way it wasn't gone. I think I walked into the hallway immediately.

Ah, memories.
I then called my grandfather. He was born on October 6th, 1919. I said, "Wow, papa, wow." And he said, "Well...I got one."

That was like my 20th post on RM2. The post is seeeeeeethingly sentimental, and it makes me cringe a bit to read it, but, hey, I was only 20 then, and the feelings still feel real even I'd word them differently now.

After Boggs' number goes up tomorrow, what will be the next 3 numbers retired by the Sox? Hot take:

34
21
15

I was going to slide 33 in before 15, but my thinking is: Tek will probably be the team's next manager, and they'll wait until they win 5 straight WS titles and he rides off into the sunset before putting it up there.

Dscans wrote:Serious question: Has Bogaerts peaked? And if he has, I'm fine with that and fine with him being our SS of the future. The thing I can't figure out is why does he hit third? He doesn't have a lot of power. He has a below average OPS. Hell, it would make more sense to have Betts hitting third.
I shit on JBJ for quite some time and then he started hitting like a fucking lumberjack so I figured I'd do the same with Mr. Xanman.
I'll be the one in the lobby in the green fuck me shirt. The green one.
