I think Strat was :| 'ng at the suggestion that Neil sounds like J. Mascis and not the other way around.

So far, I have a feeling I'm going to love Hawks & Doves.

I really don't know what to make of what I've heard of Trans. "Little Thing Called Love" is pretty great, though.

seeing Neil tonight at the Natural History Museum in LA.
Though, I think he is just going to be previewing his new album.

Hoping he actually plays a few tunes

I really like the first half of "Hawks and Doves." It does an about-face on Side B that kind of loses me, but admittedly I haven't played those songs in ages. I think "Trans" is a really strong collection of tunes once the shock from all the vocoders and campy proto-techno sound effects fades a bit. "Sample and Hold" is a top NY song for me.

Suffice it to say, Geffen Records hated "Trans," and responded to it by demanding that Neil make "a rock and roll album," so he responded in turn by recording "Everybody's Rockin'," which prompted Geffen to sue him.

I just admire this guy so much.

Lol. Isn't that just the best thing ever?

Ryan Adams did the same thing with "Rock n roll" i believe.

I love "American Stars & Bars". The first side with Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris just hits all the right spots for me somehow...it feels like home even though it's country flavored music. And the other side...holy shit!
