Look, one can enjoy Rihanna and also this stuff. It's not one or the other. Summer can be sad sometimes too.matt reeder wrote:I couldn't care less how many people listen to it. I get it, this is who and what Radiohead are now. But really, this is music for middle aged people by middle aged people. Done extremely well it won't be part of (by design) many peoples soundtrack of the summer of 2016. Critically acclaimed but listened to by fewer and fewer people.

Ful Stop and The Numbers are my two favorites I think. That'll change by tomorrow.

No shit. I just think Drake's music sucks. Would it have been better if I'd said somebody else?theplatypus wrote:Look, one can enjoy Rihanna and also this stuff. It's not one or the other. It was just really important for me to make a very obvious point.

Naturally. And maybe I should have said Rihanna, whose voice makes me want to stab my ears out with an icepick.theplatypus wrote:It was just really important for me to make a very obvious point.

tragabigzanda wrote:You typically have to roll off some of the bottom end for a vinyl master, so there could be a big improvement there.swan wrote:I agree with most of the points about the sound qualities, although it never takes me out of any of the songs so I'm mostly ok with it. Can't wait to hear how the mastering of this is for the vinyl, maybe some of that stuff will be cleaner. They have a pretty good track record of albums sounding better in that format. September can't come fast enough.
Also as previously mentioned, I'm very intrigued to hear (what we assume are going to be) the new XL pressings of the older albums. I want them to not be the shit quality of the hasty "From the Vault" represses, but at the same time I don't necessarily want to feel the need to buy every album again. I already have all the original Parlophone pressings & they sound great. But if they do a real remastering & nice pressing with the band's input, it'd be hard for me to say no.
