Quite often ambient music is the only music I have patience for. The human voice can be a distraction.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah, to be honest, this does not sound even remotely appealing to me. I get it, this is who and what Radiohead are now. But really, this is music for middle aged people by middle aged people. Done extremely well it won't be part of (by design) many peoples soundtrack of the summer of 2016. Critically acclaimed but listened to by fewer and fewer people.

I decided to listen to The King of Limbs again. It's probably been about 3 years since I've tried. Bloom is tedious. What a chore that thing is to slog through. Magpie is decent though. Better than I remembered.

Little by Little is okay, too. I enjoyed that.
Feral.... not so much. Blech. This is about as far as I've ever gotten in this record before wanting to switch to something else. This is why I haven't listened to it in years.

Yeah, I'd agree. Probably the strongest point of the album for me, so far, on this listen.swan wrote:The instrumentation & production on Little By Little is top-fucking-notch

That's exactly where the music starts to be different than the first half.durdencommatyler wrote: Feral.... not so much. Blech. This is about as far as I've ever gotten in this record before wanting to switch to something else. This is why I haven't listened to it in years.

Bloom & Feral were both massive, rocking headfucks in the one KoL tour show I saw

I love Bloom!
I really like those first five songs on TKoL to various degrees (Bloom through Lotus Flower) but I just can't do the final three. Total snoozers.
Staircase is fantastic from the leftovers.

Re: Radiohead | A Moon Shaped Pool
I kinda agree. I love TKOL because of the first five songs and like them way more than the last three. They're still really good songs though, just kind of Radiohead by the numbers and not as exciting.Birds in Hell wrote:I love Bloom!

Codex is pretty but I feel like they've done this song too many times before.
