Well normally I'd throw some calamari, mussels, shrimp and scrappy fish into a dutch oven and simmer it all with some tomato sauce, red wine, fennel, onions and red pepper flakes. Tonight, I'm chopping up some sardines and cooking it with a can of Campbell's minestrone with whatever stalky veggies and seasonings I have. I still have some of that muffuletta bread from a few days ago that I'll eat it with.
