My problem with Amnesiac is that I like a lot of the b-sides better than the songs on the album. It's not that I have a problem with "Push/Pulk" or the second version of "Morning Bell" (to name 2), but "Fog", "Cuttooth", "The Amazing Sounds of Orgy" and "Worrywort" are fantastic, and most or all of them should have made the album.VinylGuy wrote:

True Love Waits - I like what they did once i got over it being different than the live version. I wonder if the vocals were taken from years ago. Thom sounds like a young-in here.
Man, im glad i didnt hear this one a few years ago while i was still living my breakup phase.

Despite having downloaded them years ago, I've yet to listen to the Amnesiac b-sides.

I didnt quite liked it, maybe because i felt it was full of leftovers from Kid A. I dont know.tragabigzanda wrote:HTTT is bloated and fairly redundant. But I'm continuing to dive backward into Radiohead. Listening to In Rainbows now on vinyl. This is my first spin (on vinyl) on a proper turntable/speak setup. And the first listen in a year +.
This is shit is destroying me. What a monster fucking record. I like it more than I remember and I remember loving it quite a bit. But it's actually even better than I recall. I'd put this at #2 on my list. Fucking gorgeous record and it sounds even better on vinyl. Such space and depth and focus.
Wow.
But, man i love InRainbows.
You have to understand, i was such a big fan of Ok Computer than when Kid A came out i thought Radiohead was dead back then.

Same here. Amnesiac has a handful of amazing songs but it just doesn't do it for me as a whole album listening experience.WtOB? wrote:i like both hail to the thief and king of limbs more than amnesiac.
Still too early to know where AMSP will settle, but after living with it for 4 full days I am still enjoying it more with every listen. Decks Dark has made a surprise rise towards the top of the pile after taking a while to click

Re: Radiohead | A Moon Shaped Pool
Last year I made a one-disc mix of my favorite Radiohead b-sides for use in the car, on my mp3 player, etc. Here's the tracklist:
01. Pearly*
02. Bangers & Mash
03. Permanent Daylight
04. A Reminder
05. The Amazing Sounds of Orgy
06. The Trickster
07. The Daily Mail
08. Cuttooth
09. India Rubber
10. How Can You Be Sure?
11. Maquiladora
12. Talk Show Host
13. Polyethylene (pts 1 and 2)
14. Fog
15. Molasses
16. Coke Babies
17. Million Dollar Question
18. Lull
19. Gagging Order
20. Worrywort
21. 4 Minute Warning
It's become my go-to Radiohead disc, and I listen to it often. I can't wait to hear the two bonus tracks from AMSP. I hope one of them is "Lift", or "Skirting on the Surface", and I hope the other one is a new song.

Re: Radiohead | A Moon Shaped Pool
So far i find myself enjoying portions of many of the songs on A Moon Shaped Pool, rather than the whole songs. Like the change halfway through "Present Tense," the second half of "Identikit," or the choir sections of "The Numbers." Early favorites are "Burn the Witch," "Glass Eyes," and "Daydreaming," which I still find to be as devastating as on first listen.
That article swan posted is probably part of the reason I like the two albums following HTTT so much. It feels like, to me, they stopped trying to fulfill their own myth and just make music, especially on The King of Limbs.
