A shitload. This band is/was phenomenal. Corgan writes 5 songs in the time it takes me to tie my shoes.

True, a lot of the stuff on these reissues is instrumental or alt takes. But his b-sides are top notch. Make a playlist of the SP cuts that didn't make MCIS and see how they stand up to Avocado or Riot Act. Just sayin'...

I'm looking forward to the live CD in this set. They never did an official live album (Earphoria was a studio/live comp and the 2008 boots were crap). This band could bring it live; especially Billy and Jimmy Chamberlain.

Can't argue with that. I'm a huge fan though and I don't mind giving this stuff a listen and then maybe trimming the fat for the rawk. The live disc alone will be freakin awesome. Hopefully the DVD has a lossless PCM track so we'll get two live discs.

The live disc should be incredible..those years were pretty great. Im also looking forward to the Adore live disc.

Nothing - I'm just not a fan of the Adore live show at all. Hopefully he'll choose a show early in that era so we don't get every song stretched out to 10 minutes+. If you've ever listened to a show from that era, you either like it or you don't. I don't. There are some great songs, and great performances ("Let Me Give the World to You", "Stumbleine", "Behold! The Night Mare", "Transmission", aka "Silverfuck '98"*) and then there's the 10 minute version of "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" that goes absolutely nowhere.

On the other hand, I'm REAALLLLYYYYY looking forward to the bonus discs from that era - it will be worth it for the studio version of "Let Me Give the World to You" alone.

* Not really. It's basically the same thing, though.

I'm hoping an "Arising Tour" era show gets an official release. Those shows were amazing.

i really, really like some of those 98 shows i heard online..specially because of Behold the nightmare and For Martha, two of my favorites songs from Adore. The band sure misses Jimmy a lot, Kenny Aronoff was a weird replacement.

About the bonus disc..we could get a lot of unreleased material here..

As much as I wish I could own all of these reissues, I'm surprised that lightning doesn't blow Corgan off the Earth everytime he claims that Soundgarden or Nirvana or Mudhoney are making a power grab by reuniting. HOw much is this thing going to cost? $250?

CD version is currently listed at $93 on Amazon (cheaper than the Mellon Collie reissue); vinyl is expensive ($145), but it's never been pressed on vinyl before, so that's probably part of the reason.

I don't really know if he called Mudhoney a cash grab. I just named off some grunge acts. I know he's specifically targeted Soundgarden, but I'm not sure whom else he's mentioned by name.

Perhaps in Billy's World releasing all these reissues is cool and for the fans and not a money grab while Soundgarden making a new album and touring it reeks of corporate cash in.

I am not in that business, obviously. I condemn anybody who’s in that business but doesn’t admit [he's] in that business. When Soundgarden came back and they just played their old songs, great. I was a fan of Soundgarden, but call it for what it is. They’re just out there to have one more round at the till

I'm sure that the guys from Soundgarden feel suitably condemned, Billy.
